If you’re one of the 4,300 students affected by Marinello Schools of Beauty closing, Bellus Academy is here to help. With three locations in the San Diego area (Poway, Chula Vista and El Cajon) and one in Manhattan, Kansas—our doors are open to accept students looking to transfer.

Whether you’re weeks away from graduating or you’ve just started your journey, we are happy to accommodate students at any point in their education. You could even start as soon as Monday, February 15, although given the time-frame that Marinello is distributing transfer paperwork to students, it’s more likely that you’ll be starting on our specialized transfer start date on March 1. There are instances where the proper paperwork may take longer, pushing your start date back even later. However, it’s our intent to expedite the process as quickly and thoroughly as possible. We have monthly start dates to offer flexibility.

In order to enroll you in a timely manner, see below for our Transfer Policy and the list of items you’ll need to transfer. As situations may vary, our Admissions or Financial Aid team may need additional information from you.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Photo ID
• High School Diploma or GED
• Transcript and Proof of Training from prior school

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION

We will assess your transcripts to evaluate your transferred hours, reduced costs and kit cost.

FINANCIAL AID APPOINTMENT

Everyone has to meet with Financial Aid to discuss your options and possible benefits. Our team will look at payment plans, Title IV eligibility and VA benefits.

ENROLL & PAY REGISTRATION FEE

You’ll need to sign our Enrollment Agreement and pay the $75 registration fee.

ATTEND ORIENTATION

We have new class starts every month, with orientation on the Monday before our class start. All students must attend orientation.
