Cosmetology Foundation

1000 Hours – California Only

Our Cosmetology Foundation training program requires a minimum of 1,000 hours to complete. The program covers hair, skin, and nails; students receive training on various core services. These services include wet & thermal styling, chemical waving & straightening, signature foundation hair coloring & haircutting, facials and brow shaping, hair removal, lash lift, basic make-up, manicures, pedicures, and nail enhancements. The coursework focuses on infection control, equipment safety, and relevant state laws.

The Cosmetology program provides theoretical and hands-on training, focusing on hair coloring and cutting. Bellus Academy is committed to giving our graduates a competitive edge, so we offer business training to strengthen their entrepreneurial spirit and mindset. Our students learn how to master online marketing, branding, retailing, client retention, and financial management to equip them with the necessary tools for success.

The opportunity to refine their technical and communication skills occurs in our busy student salon, where our future professionals work 1:1 with a diverse clientele.

The program includes an iPad, where much of the curriculum is taught with a social learning experience.

Advanced Cosmetology

1500 Hours – California Only

The Advanced Cosmetology program is an extensive training program that requires a minimum of 1500 hours. The program provides hands-on classroom education in advanced signature haircutting, hair coloring, hair extensions, facials, brow shaping, and hair removal. During the program, students are taught to perform core services such as eyelash extensions, lash lifts, basic make-up, manicures, pedicures, and nail enhancements. These skills will be refined further during student salon training.

Our Advanced Cosmetology program at Bellus Academy covers theoretical and practical aspects of hair color, cutting, and business training that fosters an entrepreneurial mindset. We provide comprehensive online marketing, branding, retailing, client retention, and financial management training to prepare our graduates to succeed in the beauty and cosmetology industry.

Cosmetology 102

1650 Hours – Manhattan, KS Only

Cosmetology 102 is an extension of the cosmetology program that provides an additional 150 hours of Make-up Designory (MUD) curriculum to the existing 1500 hours. This results in a comprehensive 1650-hour program that covers hair, skin, and nails. The makeup artistry training includes various topics such as skin analysis, color theory, application techniques, portfolio building, marketing, networking, and additional business management skills.

As the makeup industry continues to experience consistent growth and momentum, Bellus Academy is proud to be one of the select schools to partner with internationally acclaimed brand Make-up Designory (MUD), a leader in beauty trends and innovative techniques. Students are equipped with a professional MUD branded kit and perform makeup looks ranging from bridal and theatrical to airbrush techniques.

The Cosmetology 102 program provides extensive training in advanced signature haircutting, hair coloring, hair extensions, facials and brow shaping, hair removal, and basic makeup.
